I finished the book a couple days ago and I’m still thinking about it. While it’s still early in the year, this is the best book I’ve read so far and I know it will be on all the top lists by the end of 2021. It’s one of those books that you know will leave a lasting impression. The narrative delves deeply into the inner lives of two sets of grandparents who raise their grandchildren, immersing readers in their struggle to address educational gaps, sacrifices, work ethics, pain, and loss.
